I am the blogger formerly known as gwensmom.    Gwen was our special needs daughter, a beautiful soul who needed around-the-clock care.  Her (almost) 13-year journey with us ended in September, 2009.

Our lives are radically changed,  hence the need for a new blog.  I will become a different person now that Gwen’s well-being is no longer my primary concern.  I’ll miss posting photos and stories about my girl, but will find new stories to tell and many crafty projects to share.  I will always be Gwen’s mom, but you can just call me Sarah.

::hugs to you, Sarah:: I feel so badly that I’ve been out of the loop for so long – I’m so sorry for your loss. ::more hugs:: I’m looking forward to exploring your new blog, and looking for new posts from you! xoxoxo

When I started reading your blog and gazing on the beautiful quilts (and they are truly joyful to look at) my heart blurted out of my mouth, ‘I want to be your friend!’ I have been given a room (was the downstairs study) which is being transformed into a sewing room. It has acquired the name ‘The Lady Parlour’ (a small conversation in Pride & Prejudice inspired this name). I am a mother of two small children but perhaps, when I am in a different season, I shall start a blog like you and let all my creativity free in my journey of re-discovering me-time. Eli x
